Small Groups
Each teacher is in her own classroom with her own small group of children. Our ratios are:
√
3 year olds: 10 children
√
4 year olds: 12 children
√
Young Fives: 12 children
Together All Year
Since the children stay together all year, they become close friends, and so do their families.
We group the children according to age and ability.
We do not have a nap time, but children may nap, if they need to.
Ready For Kindergarten
We get to know each child, keep track of her needs and strengths, and plan activities that challenge her individually.
We work on academic skills, such as reading, writing and math.
We also work on social skills, such as how to join a group of children at play.
Communication
Our teachers and parents share photos, videos, work samples, progress reports and more through an easy app called Seesaw.
We have parent teacher conferences 3 times per year.
We write report cards twice a year.
We also love phone calls and email.
Peaceful Atmosphere
This may be the first time your child is without you or the first time he must talk in a group setting, and we
want him to feel safe.
We plan our routines carefully and maintain a calm pace.
We love this time in a child’s life, and we want your child to love it, too.
Magical Times
We make ice cream, care for classroom pets and have parties.
We sing and dance and laugh.
We want school to be a special place where children get to do wonderful things.
