Grade 2: Public Speaking
Each pair of children gave a speech with props. This pair demonstrated how to set up a hamster cage. The crowd was very eager to pet the hamster.

Grade 2: Abstract Math
Working in small groups, the students used base-ten blocks and place-value charts to create concrete representations of very large numbers.

Watching each other's strategies for solving story problems helped the children internalize new ways of thinking about math.

In this small group activity, the kindergarten children helped each other write everyone's first and last names.

The kindergarten children hand-cranked an apple peeler to remove the skins. Then, they cut the apples into chunks and added them to a crock pot. ​

The 1st  graders practiced highlighting and compiling information about guinea pigs. Then, they made do and don't lists about caring for their new class pet.

These grade 1 students compared the coral from a real ocean reef and the class garden & learned new vocabulary such as ​exoskeleton, polyps & calcium carbonate.

We learn & practice the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

​The kindergarten students practiced methods for creating clay pinch pots. After waiting for the kiln, the children painted the pots with watercolors.

Grade 2 students love to team up with their grade 6 buddies for feedback and support with their wax museum projects.

The children created three-legged bots by attaching markers to cups. Then, they experimented with various materials to make a propeller that would help the bot walk, spin, jump, dance and draw.

During art class, grade 2 students went outside to gather items found in nature for making prints. They learned that Nature Print paper undergoes a chemical change when exposed to sunlight!

These children learned about chain reactions. Then, working in small groups, they created their own reactions.
Watch as our first graders work together to create an informational picture book about an endangered animal.
