Children have one or two Eagle Creek teachers all day.
The children who stay for the afternoon will continue to do activities that incorporate Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and STEAM. They will also do integrated activities in art, music, and outdoor education.
Grades 1, 2 and 3 get up to 40 minutes of homework.
Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 get up to 60 minutes of homework.
Please feed your child breakfast, since there is no morning snack.
Please pack a lunch. We eat lunch at 11:45 am.
All K-6 children must bring a Chromebook, charger, and headphones to school each day. For more info, see the section about Chromebooks.
What if Eagle Creek closes my child's in-person class?
Your child will do Distance Learning from 1 to 4 pm.
Your child may use Distance Learning from 8:30 to 11:30 am, if it is available.
Eagle Creek is a private school and a MI-licensed childcare center and camp for children ages 2 to 12 years old, so we are allowed to make our own decisions about when our building is open and closed. We consider government recommendations and your family's safety.
Switch between In-person and Distance Learning Anytime
Distance Learning is from 1 to 4 p.m.
The school approves switches when they are due to health concerns, family job changes, etc. The school does not approve switches because a family is waking up late, wants to go on vacation, needs babysitting, etc.
The in-person group and the distance learning group may not be working on the same lessons each day, so there may be an adjustment period.
There is no extra charge.
