More About Preschool
For young children, social studies is the study of their everyday lives. Our preschoolers learn about being a member of a small group, being part of a school, and being stewards of our environment.
We have recess every day, either on the playground or in the big gym. Running, jumping, throwing, catching, and playing are the best part of the day!
Children try many instruments, from rhythm sticks to bells to tambourines. Following and extending musical patterns helps develop math skills.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
In this video Ayiana plays the piano while Samantha and Olivia sing along.
Puppet shows, role playing, and acting out stories helps children try out adult behaviors, express themselves, and build self-confidence.
We want the children to feel free to create their own art, their own music, their own stories, their own everything... Therefore, we alternate between giving them samples to follow and giving them time to follow their inspiration.
Painting, drawing and using play dough helps children develop the small motor skills they will need in order to write letters and numbers. They also give children the chance to be creative.
Birthdays are very special days, and children love to share their stories. The birthday celebration is also a wonderful way of reinforcing the concepts of the twelve months of the year, and the earth's revolution around the sun each year.
"Our daughter loves her preschool class. It is more beneficial to her overall growth and development than being with a babysitter. We are amazed how much she has learned, and we appreciate your willingness to reorganize her schedule for us." Mrs. Dobrota, parent
